Dismang resigns Senate, joins Electric Cooperatives of Arkansas

Dismang leaves the Senate

Arkansas state Sen. Jonathan Dismang, a Republican from Searcy, resigned at the end of the day Tuesday, Sept. 15, 2026, the Northwest Arkansas Democrat-Gazette reported. He also accepted a job with Electric Cooperatives of Arkansas. The change ended his service in the Arkansas Legislature, which began in 2009.

The resignation took effect Tuesday rather than on a later date. From that point, Dismang no longer served as a senator or exercised the duties of that office. His move to Electric Cooperatives of Arkansas is an employment change separate from his former elected role.
