Statewide races

Hawaii voters will choose a governor and lieutenant governor in the Nov. 3, 2026, general election. NBC News’ Hawaii election page lists Democratic Gov. Josh Green and Republican Gary Cordery in the governor’s race.

The lieutenant governor contest lists Democrat Derek Kawakami and Republican Daniel Anthony. Primary contests precede the general election for both statewide offices.

The state’s current elected officials include Democratic U.S. Sens. Mazie Hirono and Brian Schatz. Green is the current governor.

Hawaii’s U.S. House seats

Both of Hawaii’s congressional districts are up for election, as U.S. House members serve two-year terms. District 1 is currently represented by Democrat Ed Case, while District 2 is currently represented by Democrat Jill Tokuda.

The House races also have primary contests before the November election. Primary outcomes will determine which candidates advance to the general election ballot in each district.

Recent presidential voting

Hawaii supported the Democratic presidential nominee in each of the past three presidential elections. In 2024, Kamala Harris received 60.6% of the statewide vote and Donald Trump received 37.5%, a difference of 23.1 percentage points. Hawaii had four electoral votes.

In 2020, the Democratic nominee received 63.7% and the Republican nominee received 34.3%. In 2016, the Democratic share was 62.2%, compared with 30% for the Republican nominee. These presidential results describe Hawaii’s recent statewide voting history but do not determine the outcome of its 2026 contests.
