Iran link to alleged plot in Britain remains unproven

What is known

Five men were arrested and later released after an incident that raised questions about a possible threat involving a British air base important to the U.S. Air Force. The episode drew attention on both sides of the Atlantic because of speculation that Iran may have directed or supported a plot.

That speculation has not established who was responsible or whether there was an organized plot targeting U.S. forces.
