Democratic primary result

NBC News projected incumbent Kathy Jennings as the winner of Delaware’s 2026 Democratic primary for attorney general. The statewide results showed Jennings with 71.2%, Dwayne Bensing with 23.7% and Patty Rickman with 5.1%.

The NBC News Decision Desk made the projection using vote data from the Associated Press. The results page was last updated at 9:55 a.m.

NBC’s displayed statewide table listed zero votes for each candidate even as it reported percentage shares. The percentages and projection therefore show the reported state of the contest, but not raw vote totals for Jennings, Bensing or Rickman.

County results and remaining count

Jennings led the reported percentages in each of Delaware’s three counties. She had 69.8% in Kent County, 68.5% in New Castle County and 78.9% in Sussex County.

Bensing had 23.9% in Kent County, 26.4% in New Castle County and 16.6% in Sussex County. Rickman had 6.3% in Kent County, 5.1% in New Castle County and 4.5% in Sussex County.

Each county was listed at an estimated 99% of its expected vote. Expected vote is an estimate of how many ballots will be included once counting is complete. It can change as election officials report more information, including details about early voting and Election Day ballots.
