Federal races
New Hampshire voters will choose one of the state’s two U.S. senators for a six-year term on Nov. 3, 2026. The Senate contest lists Democratic U.S. Rep. Chris Pappas and Republican John Sununu.
Both of New Hampshire’s U.S. House seats also are up for election, as they are every two years. Pappas currently represents the 1st Congressional District, while Democratic Rep. Maggie Goodlander represents the 2nd Congressional District.
The state’s current U.S. senators are Democrats Maggie Hassan and Jeanne Shaheen. The congressional results will determine who represents New Hampshire in Washington alongside the senator whose seat is not on the ballot in 2026.
Governor and statewide offices
New Hampshire will also elect a governor. The contest lists Democrat Cinde Warmington and incumbent Republican Gov. Kelly Ayotte. Governors in New Hampshire serve two-year terms.
Other current statewide officials listed by NBC News are Secretary of State David Scanlan and Attorney General John Formella, both Republicans. The election overview does not list those offices among the featured 2026 contests.
Recent presidential voting
New Hampshire supported the Democratic presidential nominee in each of the past three elections. Kamala Harris received 50.7% in 2024, compared with Donald Trump’s 47.9%, a margin of 2.8 percentage points.
The Democratic share was 52.7% in 2020, while the Republican share was 45.4%. In 2016, the result was closer: 47.6% for the Democratic nominee and 47.2% for the Republican nominee. Those presidential results provide recent voting history but do not determine the outcome of the state’s 2026 contests.
