Races on Wyoming’s 2026 ballot

Wyoming voters will choose a U.S. senator, governor, secretary of state and U.S. House member in the Nov. 3 general election.

In the U.S. Senate race, Democrat James Byrd and Republican Harriet Hageman are listed as the candidates. The winner will serve a six-year term.

In the governor’s race, Democrat Kenneth Casner and Republican Eric Barlow are listed as the candidates. In the secretary of state contest, Democrat Bryan McCarty and Republican Robert Short are listed as the candidates.

Wyoming’s single U.S. House seat is also up for election, as it is every two years. NBC News does not list general-election candidates for that contest on its Wyoming overview.

The current officeholders listed are Republican U.S. Sens. Cynthia Lummis and John Barrasso, Republican Gov. Mark Gordon, Republican Secretary of State Chuck Gray and Republican U.S. Rep. Harriet Hageman. Keith G. Kautz is listed as attorney general.

Wyoming’s recent presidential vote

Republican presidential candidates carried Wyoming in each of the past three elections. Donald Trump received 71.6% of the state’s vote in 2024, while Kamala Harris received 25.8%.

Trump’s 45.8-point Wyoming margin in 2024 was his largest among the 50 states. Wyoming awarded its three electoral votes to Trump.

In 2020, the Republican share was 69.9%, compared with 26.6% for the Democratic candidate. In 2016, the Republican share was 70.1%, while the Democratic share was 22.5%. Presidential voting history offers context for the electorate but does not determine the outcome of any 2026 contest.
